Cognac Wine

Planat makes its cognacs from wines and eaux-de-vie obtained from the Cognac region’s four main crus. For many years, we have been forging partnerships with organic winegrowers in the Cognac region. Cultivating a greater respect for the environment and offering unique products.
Planat is the first organic operator in the Cognac region. Its environmental commitments are the essential foundation of the company.

Distillery

In our distillates, we seek characteristics that we consider vital to achieve an excellent cognac: vinosity (fermentation notes), fruit (in particular pear) and a certain level of aromatic complexity (in particular fatty acid esters). We do not hesitate to make major changes to our distillation process depending on the vintage.

Our core expertise: Ageing

It is up to the cellar master’s team to enhance the product, seeking excellence throughout. Ageing eaux-de-vie forms the heart of Planat’s expertise, and is the key to our authenticity, differentiation and success.
The cellar master uses three key elements in this process: time, casks and climate.
